Colleague Allegedly Asks For Sexual Favour From Lady Teacher

Anantapur: A municipal school teacher, Moinuddin, allegedly asked for sexual favours from a lady teacher in return for a relieving letter that would enable her to join a posting of her choice.

The incident occurred on Sunday in a girls' high school where a sports and cultural event was organised for students of municipal schools. Accordingly, teachers of all the schools run by the municipality turned up and were coordinating the event. Moinuddin and the lady teacher, who work in different municipal schools, also attended. Earlier, the lady teacher had successfully applied for the post of Urban Local Body Corrdinator (ULB) but could not join the duty as she was relieved from her current posting. Municipal commissioner Bhavani Prasad presided over the function.

After the programme, when the lady teacher reached the two-wheeler parking area she found Moinuddin at her vehicle. Moinuddin is allegedly to have told her that he is aware that she had failed to get relieving orders. "Come and spend the night at the Commissioner's guest house with me and others and I will ensure you get the relieving orders,"Moinudding is reported to have said. The infuriated teacher threw her slipper at him and slapped him. He retaliated and the two were soon involved in a fist-fight. She retorted that he better take his wife to the Commissioner's guest house and that she does not have such habits. The entire episode was caught on mobile phones by other teachers present.

Later, she lodged a complaint with the police. Besides sexual comments, he also referred to her caste in a demeaning manner, the woman stated in her complaint.

However, Moinuddin denied having made such comments.
