Chowmahalla Palace Gets Best Disabled Friendly Monument Award, Best Heritage City Warangal

Hyderabad: The Telangana Tourism department bagged eight prestigious national tourism awards for its excellence in various tourism sectors and industry. City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and Tourism Director G. Kishan Rao received the awards from President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday in New Delhi on the occasion of World Tourism Day.

Following are the ones bestowed with awards - GHMC was awarded Civic Management of a Tourist Destination in India; Warangal bagged Best Heritage City; Best Tourism Promotion Publicity material award was given to Telangana tourism department for its theme book published in Mandarin language for China International Travel Mart; Best Tourist Guide was given to Kasinath Rao; Best Maintained and Disabled Friendly Monument was bagged by Chowmahalla Palace; Apollo Hospital was awarded with Best Medical Tourism Facility; Leonia International Centre for Exhibition & Conventions; and Hyderabad has won the award of Best Standlone Convention Centre.

The director of Chowmahalla Palace G. Kishan Rao says, “It is a matter of great pride. Earlier in 2012, Chowmahalla received the award of merit from UNESCO”.
