The fissures in the Andhra Pradesh Congress have come to the fore once again as key leaders like Chiranjeevi, MM Pallam Raju, Kishore Chandra Deo and Chinta Mohan gave a miss to the key meeting of the party in Indira Bhavan.

While Chiranjeevi was both a union minister and the campaign committee chief during the 2014 polls, Pallam Raju and Deo held key ministerial portfolios. Chinta Mohan is a four-time MP from Tirupati. Chiranjeevi has been keeping a distance from the party affairs and has been busy with his 150th film. The other leaders too were keeping a low profile since party’s ignomious defeat.

The meeting was organized to plan strategy for the protest programmes on the first anniversary of Narendra Modi’s ascent to power. The party decided to organize protests on May 26, when Modi took over and June 8, when Chandrababu took over in AP.
