Cheating case lodged against Shinde, Chidambaram in Hyd

A cheating case was registered against Union home minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde and Finance minister, P Chidambaram in Hyderabad following a complaint from Telangana lawyers.

The Telangana lawyers had filed a petition before a local court in Rangareddy district against the two union ministers accusing them of cheating the people of Telangana region by going back on their commitments on the Telangana statehood issue.

After hearing their petition, the court had directed the police to investigate and register a case. Following a court directive, LB Nagar police filed a case against the two union ministers under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code.

It is learnt that, they mentioned how Chidambaram went back on the announcement of December 9 and how Shinde also turned down his December 28 commitment in the petition.
