Chandrababu and team to study international cities for development
Hyderabad: Chandrababu Niadu government of Wednesday decided to study some of the best practices in grand cities in countries like Kazakhsthan and Turkmenistan to adopt them in the development of its capital.
For building a world-class capital city, as per the suggestion of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji, it was decided to visit countries like Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan and see some of the international cities, state Information Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy told reporters at Rajahmundry after a meeting of the state cabinet. The cabinet meeting was held at Rajahmundry, where Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is staying put in view of the ongoing Godavari 'Maha Pushkaram' there. Officials would visit the countries in the first stage and then the Chief Minister will take the final decision, the minister said.
Singapore's minister S Iswaran submitted the Master Plan for the Seed Capital Area of AP's capital city Amaravati, coming up in the Vijayawada region, two days ago. The state government has plans to build a grand and world-class capital city for Andhra Pradesh, which is deprived of a capital of its own following the state bifurcation in 2014. Modi reportedly suggested to Naidu about the grand style of the cities in countries like Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan for development of AP's capital.
Meanwhile, the state cabinet mourned the death of 27 people in a tragic stampede on the opening day of 12-day 'Maha Pushkaram' on July 14.
