BJP 'stings' Congress with liquor scam
New Delhi: The tables have turned. The BJP on Wednesday released a video which showcases Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat's personal secretary Mohammed Shahid conferring with 3 individuals about the excise policy in state.
The video unleashes the dark side of Congress which clearly shows 'Kaun kitnepaani mein hai', Harish Rawat's predecessor was Vijay Bahugua, who had failed to effectively implement rehabilitation program and rescue operations during June 2013 floods.
BJP head quarters broadcasted the spycam video of the dealings of CM's PS with liquor lobby. Once Harish Rawat came into power he immediately altered the excise policy, They capitalized on who will distribute and transport foreign liquor in the state clearly benefiting the private agencies.
Garwhal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) and Agriculture Marketing Council were initially responsible for wholesale distribution of foreign liquor during Vijay Bhaugunarule.
However the duo, Chief Minister and his PS Mohammed Shahid dominated the entire Liquor distribution and Supply(FL-2 )in Uttarakhand state.
The video shows how Mohammed Shahid is amidst negotiating on how much to be paid in crores, how the payment is divided, how much is to be paid now and where would the rest of the payment will be made. Mohammed Shahid clearly states 25% has to be paid now and the rest 75% has to be paid in string operations.
Union Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated "how the government agencies were being sidelined for private agencies via pick and chose policy of the Chief Minister and his PS Mohammed Shahid is clearly seen in this sting operation".
"Very clearly, with a clear intention of making money in a state like Uttarakhand which is crying for help, the chief minister and his handpicked and chosen PS, an IAS officer from Gujarat cadre who was brought in even when he was a union minister" She added.
Congress has been trying to drag BJP through mud using Vyapam scam and Lalitgate, It has caused such an uproar in the Parliament that the LS had to be adjourned twice in two days, Congress demanded resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Madhaya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
In Lalitgate case, Sushma Swaraj has been scrutinized for helping the tainted IPLCommissioner Lalit modi by assisting in securing British travel documents for him to visit is sick wife.
Vyapam scam was initially reported in 1995, 2000 and again in 2004, however these cases were dealt as individual cases.
