Cash for Vote audio, video tapes sent for forensic examination

In a major development in the Cash for Vote scam, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has sent the video and audio tapes in the case to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).

The audio tapes have a voice purported to be that of AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the video tapes show TDP senior leader Revanth Reddy, who is now lodged in Cherlapally Jail, trying to lure a TRS nominated MLA to vote for the TDP candidate in the recent MLC elections. These tapes showed that the TDP sought to buy TRS MLAs to win the MLC elections. Already, Revanth Reddy is in remand and clamour is growing for Chandrababu Naidu’s name to be included in the list of the accused.

The FSL is likely to send a report on the authenticity of the tapes in a couple of days.
