Car-borne Robbery Gang Busted
Hyderabad: Central Crime Station (CCS) police of Madhapur in a joint operation with KPHB police on Wednesday have busted a notorious interstate robbery gang who had done more than hundred robberies in locked houses in the city.
Madhapur DCP Karthikeya, detailing about their modus operandi, said the gang, formed by Prashanth Kumar, Sushanth Kumar, Panigrahi and Premnand, all belong to Barampur of Odisha state, first conduct a recce on the houses especially the locked ones in isolated in the city by using a car. Then they plan the robbery mostly in Kukatpally, KPHB, LB Nagar, Saroornagar, Chaitanyapuri, Vanasthalipuram, Humayatnagar, Panjagutta and Bowenpally areas, police said.
The gang was nabbed by police on Wednesday when they were traveling by a car at Pragathinagar carrying Rs.8 lakh worth gold and 6 cellphones. The gang had done more than hundred thefts at 42 places in the city and they believed to have robbed nearly 8kg of gold which is yet to be recovered, police said.
