RTC to Run 5,168 Special Buses to Clear Sankranti Rush - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will run 2,470 special buses to clear the holiday rush during the festival season of Sankranti, TSRTC Hyderabad Zonal Executive Director R Nagaraju said.


Addressing the media here on Wednesday, he said the special buses will be plied from January 8 to 14. The fares for these buses will be 50 per cent more than the regular charges in the same routes, he added. These will be in addition to the 2,698 special buses by the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC).

In order to prevent over crowding and traffic jams at the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS), 14 other pick up points are designated for the special buses, he said and added that they include ECIL, Bowenpally, Ameerpet, SR Nagar, Chandanagar, LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Kukatpally, BHEL, Tarnaka, IS Sadan, Santhosh Nagar, Mehdipatnam and Uppal Crossroads.
