Budget blues dog Telangana Government - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Will Telangana government present its annual budget for the current fiscal? This issue is being debated hotly in political and bureaucratic circles.

Reports say, that Telangana goverment may not introduce the budject this quarter and take to the Vote On Account route again. The current vote on account will expire by September. So, the government could present the budget only in November, which means the budget would be valid for just three months.

The reason for this delay is being blamed on the  task force committees (TFC) appointed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on various were have failed to stick to the deadlines. Of the 14 task force committees, only five submitted reports so far.

The delay is being blamed on the lack of IAS officers in the state of Telangana. As a result, the government may have to seek vote on account again. So technically, a full-fledged budget for the whole financial year is possible only next year.

Reportedly, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao have already discussed legal provisions on vote-on-account with Governor ESL Narasimhan, when he met him at the Raj Bhavan last Friday.

Reports also suggests government is even ready to take the ordinance route. They might be also a special discussion in State Assembly for a day or two to get its nod.
