"Bought and consumed liquor on highways" - Sakshi Post

Several MLAs cutting across party lines expressed concern over growing number of accidents on the national highways in Andhra Pradesh.

BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju said there were liquor shops all along the national highway. "The shops are thriving along the national highway and it is easy to get liquor. Easy availability of liquor has led to drunken driving, which in turn caused the accidents to happen," he said.
Then he went on to add: "The bars look so alluring that people cannot stop themselves from going for a peg or two. Why... even I have been lured a couple of times and went to buy liquor on the highways." he quipped.
Responding immediately, the State Government said every step would be taken to bring down the number of accidents.
