BJP Nets KCR’s Family Member

Hyderabad: Close on the heels of BJP president Amit Shah's three-day tour of Telangana, the party's strategy in the state is becoming apparent.

Spokesperson of Telangana Congress, Ramya, has announced her plans to join the saffron party. The announcement is significant for two aspects. Firstly, it comes on the day when Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is touring the state. Secondly, Ramya is niece of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao - his elder brother's daughter.

Considering the timing of the move and the person shifting the loyalty, the BJP seems to have a firm strategy in place to strengthen the party in Telangana. The defection is said to be a blow to Congress and TRS, while senior leaders from TDP and other regional parties are also likely to follow suit.
