The BJP gave indications that it is finding alliance with the TDP a mill stone around its neck. The BJP office bearers, who met at Anantapur on Monday, said an anti-incumbency wave is building up against the TDP. The recent MLC elections, where the TDP lost in graduate and teachers constituencies where elections were held, were an indication of the TDP becoming increasingly unpopular. The party leaders also felt that the BJP should go it alone in the coming assembly elections.

Interestingly, party senior leader and MLC Somu Veerraju categorically condemned the attack on transport commissioner Balasubrahmanyam by TDP MP Kesineni Nani and MLA Bonda Uma.

There have always been murmers within the BJP about alliance with the TDP. The party leaders have been alleging that the TDP was treating them not as alliance partners but as rivals at the ground level.

Party state president Haribabu, ministers Kamineni Srinivas and Pydikondala Manikyala Rao, MLCs Somu Veerraju, PVN Madhav, party's floor leader in Assembly Vishnu Kumar Raju, MP Gokaraju Gangaraju and others were present.
