BJP blames Andhra censor board for film row

Against the backdrop of recent controversies surrounding two feature films in Andhra Pradesh, BJP today alleged that the state Film Censor Board has failed to keep public interest in view.
Referring to the row over 'Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu' and 'Brahminism', senior party leader Bandaru Dattatreya told reporters that the controversies surrounding the two films could have been avoided had the Censor Board acted appropriately. While 'Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu', starring popular hero and actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi's brother Pavan Kalyan, invited the ire of Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) and other Telangana supporters for allegedly hurting their sentiments, 'Brahminism' allegedly portrayed women in the poor light. The BJP leader said the state government should take tough action with regard to the Board. Meanwhile, the former MP said the state government should continue the subsidy on LPG cylinders as announced by the Congress leadership.
