BIG SCAM: GetMyJob Vanishes After Calling 5000 Students For Job Mela

Job seekers at Little Flower Junior College, Uppal waiting for the Job Mela - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Get My Job, a job consultancy which promised to provide jobs to thousands of students in various fields at a job mela organized at Little Flower Junior College, Uppal, on Sunday vanished after calling 5,000 students for interviews.

Each student paid Rs200 towards registration for the interview where the company claimed that 25 MNCs will be participating. The company's website www.getmyjob.co.in carried an advertisement about the 'Off Campus Job Mela' scheduled for Sunday from 8.30am to 6pm at LFJ, Uppal and over 5,000 students enrolled themselves for the program by paying Rs200 registration fee.

The company which claimed to "Bridge the gap between Talent and Make in India" with a Vission (sic) of "Dream India to eradicate unemployment and a Mission to "Create opportunities for 1,00,000 unemployees" promised to bring companies from different sectors in non-IT, Tech Support, BPO, KPO, Finance and Marketting for on the spot recruitment.

As the registration fee was Rs200, thousands of unemployees registered for the interview. The candidates started reaching the venue from the early hours and waited for a few hours. With nobody turning from the company or any recruiters, they grew impatient and ransacked the college.

However, the LFJ management claimed that they did not have any connection with job consultancy and no idea about their whereabouts.

The mobile number of the company 9032427067 is switched off and there is no clear address on the website except for Hyderabad, Telangana. Another company - Advitiya Sreshta Foundation is also said to have involved in the scam.

Police booked a case and further investigation is on.
