Bapiraju finally out of TTD - Sakshi Post

With the Andhra Pradesh government deciding to abolish the managements of various temples in the state, the hopes of TTD chairman Kanumuri Baburaju are dashed and he is out of TTD now.

He had reportedly moved heaven and earth to make the state government allow him to complete his full term.

Bapiraju, the then Narasapur MP, got the top post in TTD on August 25, 2012 in his second term in the post. But, with the victorious TDP deciding to fill the temple posts with its party members, the writing on the wall was clear for Kanumuri.

Bapiraju also exerted pressure on the state government through Union Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu to allow him to complete his full term in TTD. But, he lost his post now.

The state cabinet has abolished all the boards in all temples in the state.Bapiraju first got the post in 2011. But, he drew criticism of failing in providing the amenities to the devotees in Tirumala. He was also criticised for providing out-of-turn darshans for celebrities and VIPs.

He differed with TTD EO L.V.Subrahmanyam on the protocol issue. He could convince the men in power to transfer him and bring in M.G.Gopal as the new EO. But, he differed with M.G.Gopal too.
