Balaiah to be Chief Guest for Jallikattu in Chittoor District

Tirupati: Noted film star Nandamuri Balakrishna will be the chief guest of Jallikattu competitions to be held for the first time in Pullaiahgari Palle in Chandragiri mandal of Chittoor district.

The villagers borrowed the concept and idea of Jallikattu from neighbouring Tamil Nadu. The traditional bull fight of Jallikattu tests the strength and guile of farm hands in especially constructed arenas.
However, district police officials advised villagers against the conduct of the event in view of the Supreme Court issuing a stay on the conduct of Jallikattu.
