Australian Film Showcase in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: With an aim to spread an understanding of their films, the Australian consulate is conducting Australian Film Showcase-2016 in Hyderabad from April 2 to 10.Announcing the program here on Wednesday, Australian Consul General for South India Sean Kelly said the annual Showcase would be mutually helpful for the industries in both Australia and India in understanding the latest trends and technologies.
As part of the Showcase, 11 films will be screened at PVR Cinemas at Sujana Mall. Kelly said 43 Australian movies won Oscars and 154 movies were nominated for the awards in various departments so far. Appreciating the big budget Baahubali, he said the Indian cinema is gradually improving to the global standards.
During the 10-day program, the delegates will give presentations on the shooting locations and technologies available to be shared with Indian film industry. Several great movies of Hollywood were shot in Australian locations, he said. Last year, the Showcase was held in Chennai.
