Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party senior leader and MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy strongly condemned the attack on his party leader Silpa Chakrapani Reddy in Nandyal town in broad daylight.

Srikanth Reddy accused Chandrababu of encouraging faction politics in Rayalaseema. He sought to know as to how rowdy sheeters could possess weapons when the Election Commission has asked everyone to surrender their licensed weapons in view of the byelections in Nandyal.

Meanwhile, Pattikonda Assembly Constituency incharge Cherukulapadu Sridevi on Thursday alleged that police are working as tools in the hands of the ruling TDP.

Strongly condemning the TDP leaders attack on YSR Congress leader Silpa Chakrapani Reddy in Nandyal, she said the police did not take any action against the accused. The ruling party has conspired to encourage faction politics through attacks on opposition leaders.

The YSRCP leader also said the TDP has realised that the party will bite the dust in the by-election to Nandyal Assembly Constituency. They are unable to digest the fact that the people are with the YSR Congress Party.
