Ashok Gajapati Raju to take oath as union minister

Vizianagaram MP elect and Politburo member of Telugu Desam Party, Pusapati Ashok Gajapati Raju, is going to take oath as a cabinet minister at centre on Monday.

Raju is succeeding in Vizianagaram politics with his own style. In his initial days of political career, he had to bear the blame of being away from ordinary people. But, he changed his attitude and is succeeding well in politics today.

The 62 year old Raju had started his political career by contesting on behalf of Janata Party in 1978. He was elected for assembly in 1983,1985,1989,1994,1999 and 2009.

In his 36 years of political career, he was elected for assembly for seven times and once for Parliament.

He held several portfolios in Telugu Desam Party governments in the state.

The first time MP, Ashok Gajapati Raju, will join in the union cabinet for the first time in his political career.
