Army men arrested for attempting gang rape in Secunderabad
In an incident which made the civil society hang its hand in shame, three army jawans were arrested for attempting gang rape on a woman on Monday in Secunderabad.
Timely intervention of the police prevented the offense.
According to Tukaram Gate police, three army men allegedly thrashed the victim’s friend and took her to the nearby bushes at Mahendra Hills, in Secunderabad, when the couple was returning from Saibaba Temple in Mahendra Hills. Alerted by the complaint of victim’s friend, the police swiftly reached the spot and thwarted the rape attempt of the army men.
They were arrested under Nirbhaya Act, police said. The victim was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for medical tests.
