Nellore district YSRCP leaders described Saturday’s incident that took place in the ZP office of Nellore as the misuse of power by the ruling party.

YSRCP MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy and Nellore (Rural) MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar spoke to reporters in Nellore on Sunday.

They asked the district collector and SP to act responsibly while conducting the ZP election.

“We will not keep quiet if the higher officials behaved in a partial manner and supported the ruling party,” warned the YSRCP leaders.

“The police officials did not react even the TDP leaders were trying to kidnap our ZPTC member. How far is it justified?,” said the leaders.

“Are they police officials or agents of the ruling party?” asked the leaders.

They have asked the state IAS officers’ association to respond on Saturday’s attack on Nellore district collector. “The incident should be taken as serious,” said the leaders.

“Special observer must be appointed for the ZP election on July 13,” demanded Kotamreddy Sridhar.
