AP to relocate Secretariat to Vijayawada

After the foundation laying ceremony to be held in Amravati on October 22, in the next six to eight months the Andhra Pradesh government will shift the secretariat from Hyderabad to Vijayawada.

 

Relocation proposal of Secretariat is given to an IT Special Economic Zone, Medha Towers in Vijayawada Confirming the development, a senior official stated  that the decision has also been communicated to the Centre seeking denotification of SEZ status to the towers.

After the bifurcation of the state  officials of key departments have made  frequent visits to Vijayawada.  AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is seen attending his camp office duties in Vijayawada.

 

Advisor and past-president of Vijayawada Hotel Owners’ Association, K Pattabhiram says, “There has been sheer increase in the number of visitors to the city as reflected in the higher hotel occupancy. “In the last three months alone, the number of visitors to Vijayawada has gone up by about 20 per cent’’.
