Of late, India has become the crime capital. Andhra Pradesh too is not far behind considering the number of cases are only on the rise. Sakshipost brings you a roundup of stories from the crime file.

Father kills son, stuffs body in plastic cover

In a gruesome incident,  a father at Yanadi colony in YSR Kadapa district strangled his son, police said on Thursday.
According to reports, the father a habitual drinker came home drunk on Wednesday night. In an inebriated state, he killed his 11-year old physically handicapped son. The father confessed to his act in front of the police saying he killed his son. He also told the police that he committed the crime as he couldn't see him in the handicapped state and could not imagine his future.

His neighbors and family were shocked to know that stuffed the body in a plastic bag. The residents thrashed him severely before handing him over to the police.

Man kills daughter in Nizamabad

In yet another incident, a father killed his 15-month-old daughter at Durki village in Nizamabad district, police said on Thursday. The neighbors suspect that he reportedly killed his daughter as he did not like a girl child.

Nadipi Gangaram, recently fathered a fourth child which also happened to be a girl. It is learnt that Gangaram would often pick up a fight with his wife over the child, saying he will kill the child. He strangled the child to death this morning.

Handloom  weaver commits suicide in Sircilla

A handloom weaver of Siricilla in Karimnagar district on Thursday, committed suicide by hanging at his home as he was unable to repay the money he had borrowed.

The deceased identified as Viswanadam had borrowed money from a financier for domestic use. However, he took the extreme step for failing to clear the debt. Viswanadam hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his house.

A case has been registered and the the body has been sent for postmortem to a government hospital.

Old woman burnt alive in fire accident

A old woman was burnt alive, while a few others were injured when a fire broke out at their thatched house in Narayankhed mandal of Medak district on Thursday. Dasari Bagamma was charred to death in the blaze, which broke out due to a lamp in the house.

Youth killed in mysterious circumstances

A 21-year-old youth was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Budaraopet in Khanapur mandal of Warangal district on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Anil. It is learnt that Anil's family barged into a house alleging that the latter had murdered him and damaged their furniture. Tension prevailed when there was clash between the two families.

However, the police brought the situation under control. Police has registered a case of unnatural death and began the investigation.

Rape attempt in Singarayikonda

A group of unidentified persons tried to rape a girl at Singarayikonda of Addanki in Prakasam district today.
According to reports, the girl had come to a 'jathra', along with her boyfriend. The miscreants hit her boyfriend and attempted to rape the girl. However, the couple managed to escape them.

The police has registered a case against the four persons after the girl filed a complaint. Two persons have been arrested, while the others fled the scene. Police has launched a search to find the absconding people.

3-year-old crushed to death by school bus

A 3 -year old child died after being trapped under the wheels of a bus at Miyapur in Hyderabad this morning.

The child was crushed under the wheels of the school bus near Gokul plots. The victim has been identified as Gayatri. Further details are awaited.
