3.84 lakh applied for EAMCET - 2013

As many as 3,84,863 candidates applied for the EAMCET-2013, entrance exam for engineering and medicine in the state.

As the date for applying for the entrance was closed on Wednesday, about 2.14 lakh boys and 1.70 lakh girls applied for the test out of total 3.84 lakhs, said EAMCET convener Dr N V Ramana Rao on Thursday.

He said a record level of applications of 1.01 lakh received for medicine this year, while 2.82 lakh for engineering. Girls outnumbered the boys in the medicine as about 62,713 girls were appearing for the medicine this year, Dr Ramana Rao said and added that applications with Rs 500 fine would be accepted up to April 8, Rs 1000 fine till April 17 and Rs 10,000 fine up to May 7.
