2 killed in hit & run case

In a hit and run case, two persons were killed when an unidentified vehicle struck them from behind early on Wednesday morning at Jeggasagar under Metpalli of Karimnagar, police said.  The bodies have been sent for postmortem. The vehicle allegedly hit the duo while they were walking on the road.

Rape bid against minor, boy arrested
 
A minor boy attempted rape against a girl at a Errubalem village in Korisapadu mandal of Prakasam district. The girl lodged a complaint at the Errubalem police station. The police took the boy into custody and sent the girl for medical tests.

2 students commit suicide, one dies at Chirala  

A student died and another was struggling for life at Chirala after they attempted suicide by consuming pesticide. Two students allegedly attempted suicide at Polytechnic in Chirala in Prakasam district on Wednesday.

According to reports, the students were deeply upset with denial of hall tickets and harassment by the head of the department. D Vijayakrishna died at the hospital, while another student was being treated. Police started probe into the case.

Vijayawada girl found dead in car, driver held

A degree student from Vijayawada found dead in a stationary car at Tenali in Guntur district. The police took the car driver into custody and are quizzing him for further information.

According to reports, Sushmapriya, 19, was studying degree in Vijayawada and she left for college on Tuesday morning. As she did not return home, the parents searched for Sushmapriya. They found Paul alias Ramakrishna Reddy at Tenali, who was working as their driver. He was handed over to the police. It was revealed in the enquiry that the car was parked at Market Bridge.

They found the body of Sushmapriya in the car. Paul reportedly told the police that she committed suicide consuming pesticide. No wounds were found on her person. However, the relatives alleged that the driver might have forced her to take pesticide to kill her. Sushmapriya's father was running a cable centre at Singh Nagar in Vijayawada. The body was taken to hospital for post-mortem. Investigation is on.
