Vijayamma becomes emotional at fast camp

YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma on Wednesday became emotional at the fast camp on Wednesday when the artistes sang about the welfare programmes launched by late YS Rajasekhar Reddy.

 She deeply moved by the songs highlighting the schemes of YSR and his commitment for the downtrodden at the fast camp organised by YSRCP MLAs and MLCs protesting against the power charges hike. The singers explained how YSR's family was suffering after his demise. Emotional feelings gripped the leaders at the fast camp. 

Agitations along with Left parties

Earlier, addressing the camp, Vijayamma said her son Jagan Mohan Reddy wished to take part in the people's movements along with Left parties. She recalled that late YSR had worked in close relationship with the Communist parties protesting against power charges hike during Chandrababu Naidu’s regime. The same coordination would be maintained now also, she said.

YSRCP holds State-wide protests

Meanwhile, the YSRCP on Wednesday organised dharnas, road blockades across the state against the electricity charges hike. A massive rally was taken out in Secunderabad under the leadership of Adam Vijaykumar and a dharna was organised at Seethaphalmandi sub-station. YSRCP youth leaders staged a demonstration in front of Anakapalli municipality. In Kakinada, YSRCP workers organised dharna. Under the leadership of Jyeshta Ramesh Babu, the YSRCP workers organised demonstration at Mylavaram in Krishna district. Similar programmes were organised at Vardhannapet, Eturu Nagaram and Station Ghanpur in Warangal district. Road blockades, rallies were held in Nalgonda, Kadapa, Chittoor, Nellore, Chittoor, Anantapur, Kurnool, Khammam and other districts. 

BC Assn. backs YSRCP

Meanwhile, BC welfare association at Eluru in West Godavair district extended its solidarity to the agitation launched by YSRCP MLAs and MLCs. Ganta prasada Rao, its leader said the artisans were badly affected with the hike in power charges and threatened to launch massive dharna during the CM's tour, if he did not reverse the power charges. 

Complaint against Vijayamma's fast

Congress MLA Veerasiva Reddy on Wednesday said he complained to the Assembly Speaker against the fast camp organised by YS Vijayamma and other YSRCP MLAs and MLCs. He said because of the fasting at MLA quarters, other MLAs were causing inconvenience. He said the security of other legislators was under threat with the camp. People in huge numbers were visiting the YSRCP fast camp, he said and added that he wrote a letter to the Speaker.
