AP bifurcation: 12 petitions filed in SC
In a last ditch effort, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy moved the Supreme Court against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
Kiran, who has been hinting to launch a new political party likely to announce his decision today. He is expected to address the media later in the evening.
After President Pranab Mukherjee, approved of the Telangana Bill, as much as 12 petitions have been filed in Supreme Court against the bifurcation.
These petitions filed by leaders of various political parties include expelled Congress MPs Vundavalli Arun Kumar, Sabbam Hari and Rayapati Sama Siva Rao.
The Supreme Court is likely to take up the pleas on Friday.
