AP Assembly: 2 Adjournments in one hour

With a determined Opposition YSRCP making bids to put the Chandrababu Naidu government on the dock, the AP assembly today saw two adjournments within an hour of assembling.

With the YSRCP members shouting slogans and attacking the ruling party for its acts of omission and commission, the Speaker adjourned the house for ten minutes.

After the house re-assembled, the YSRCP gave an adjournment motion on the Government’s promise of waiving DWCRA loans. However, the TDP opposed the move saying that the YSRCP had no right to talk about DWCRA loans as the scheme was Chandrababu’s pet scheme. The speaker rejected the adjournment motion. The YSRCP has also given notices for discussions on Polavaram and Pattiseema projects.

The ruling party tried to counter-attack saying that the YSRCP MLAs were attending the house with an intention to disrupt it. The Opposition strongly opposed these comments and demanded a debate on the issues raised by them. At this, the speaker adjourned the house for a second time.
