AP Agriculture Minister's aide arrested for murder

Andhra Pradesh agriculture minister Patti Pati Pulla Rao's close follower Vengalarayudu has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of Andhra Prabha's senior journalist MNV Shankar (52) at Chilakaluripet town in Guntur.

There were strong allegations that Vengalarayudu is the main accused in the murder case. Shankar, who was working as a senior journalist, reportedly exposed the several illegal activities of Vengalarayudu.
The journalist was attacked three months ago by three assailants with iron rods as he was returning home from his office at around 10.30 pm. He succumbed to head injuries while undergoing treatment.
Vengalarayudu will be produced before the court on Friday.
