AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Tirumala: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be visiting Tirumala on September 30, on the first day of the annual Brahmotsavam celebrations, and present silk robes to Lord Venkateswara as part of the customary ritual.

He will leave Tadepalli at 1:30 PM and reach Renigunta Airport in Tirupati at three in the afternoon. YS Jagan will first go to Tiruchanoor and inaugurate Padmavathi Nilayam there. After the inauguration, he will go to Alipiri and lay the foundation stone for a four-lane highway to Cherlopalli.

After that, YS Jagan will reach Tirumala and lay the foundation stone for Matrusri Vakula Devi Rest House and another Utility Complex for the devotees there.

At 7 PM in the evening, the Chief Minister will formally present the silk robes to the Lord on behalf of the State. After having darshan of the deity, he will participate in the Pedda Sesha Vaana Seva ritual.

YS Jagan will rest at Tirumala for the night and leave for Tadepalli on October 1st.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will earn the rare distinction of presenting the silk robes to Lord Venkateswara in his capacity as AP Chief Minister apart from his father, the late Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Dr YSR had also presented silk robes several times when he was the chief minister of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. Another rare distinction would be that two people from the same family, both in their capacity as Chief Ministers would have presented silk robes to the Tirumala deity.
