Plane Makes Emergency Landing At RGIA For Mother In labour
Hyderabad: A Baby was born at the medical centre attached to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport after a plane made an emergency landing on Saturday.
A Cebu Pacific flight which was flying from Dubai to Manila made an emergency landing at RGIA around 5 am on Saturday. As a women developed labour pains on board, the crew requested for medical from RGIA and sought permission from the Air Traffic Control to making an emergency landing.
Before the arrival of the aircraft, the officials at RGIA made necessary arrangements to ensure proper treatment to the mother.
According to reports, the mother was identified as Mananieta Jean Ledesma of Philippines. She was taken to the Apollo Medical centre at the airport soon after the aircraft had been parked in the bay where she delivered a baby boy. And then both the mother and child were shifted to Apollo Cradle in Jubilee Hills for further treatment.
According to the doctors, the weight of the baby was 2.7 kg. The mother and child would be discharged after observation for two to three days, the doctors said to a daily.
In a similar instance, a few months ago, a baby was born on board of a plane that made an emergency landing at RGIA. It was coincidently a Philippine Airlines flight en route to Manila from Riyadh. Incidentally, both the babies happen to be from the Philippines.
