Special Enquiry Committee To Probe Boat Accident
Amaravati: Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered for the formation of an Enquiry Committee to probe an inquiry into the Vasista Punnami Royal Boat incident and it should submit its recommendations to the Government within 21 days from the date of constitution.
Accordingly, The Government hereby constitutes an Enquiry Committee with the following members:
i) Spl. Chief Secretary (Irrigation) Chairman
ii) Spl. Chief Secretary (Revenue) Member
iii) Prl. Secretary (Tourism) Member
iv) Addl. Director General (Law & Order) Member
v) Director (Ports) Member
vi) District Collector, East Godavari Convenor
The Scope of the Committee is as follows;
(i) Examine all causes for unfortunate boat accident
(ii) Fix responsibility of the concerned
(iii) Suggest measures that such incidents do not reoccur in future
(iv) Suggest on physically restraining un-licensed, un-fit, un-registered boats at the ferry point at ground level.
(v) Suggest on Running of control room at ferry points
(vi) Suggest on Training of Boat drivers other than the license etc.,
(vii) Follow up action on earlier instructions, issued by Govt from time to time
(viii) Suggest guidelines for movement in pre-flood, flood times and its implementation there on.
(ix) Any other recommendation which the enquiry committee may consider.
The Committee shall submit its report in 21 days to Government for taking further action.
