Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Government has issued orders to withdraw cases filed against agitators for demanding Special Category Status movement on Friday.

In a GO RT No 773 issued by the Home department, undersigned by the Principal Secretary KRM Kishore Kumar, stated withdrawal of prosecutions pertaining to all the cases registered in connection with agitations demanding Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh earlier.

In the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, sessions held in June the Government adopted a resolution requesting the Centre to confer the Special Category Status with all financial benefits and industrial incentives without further delay. It also asked the Union government to fulfill all provisions and assurances incorporated in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, in letter and spirit.
