Huge Response: Over Two Lakh Apply For ‘Village Volunteer’ In Four Days 

Amaravati: There is a deluge in terms of applications for Village Volunteers across the State, indicating a huge response from the youth. Over two lakh youth have already submitted their applications in the last four days since the recruitment process began.

On the other hand, the Village Volunteers' website is attracting lakhs of visitors. So far more than nine lakh web users have visited the site. As the number of applications is in lakhs, officials have already begun the verification much before the scheduled verification process. As per the State government schedule, applications should be invited until July 5 and the carry out the verification on July 10 followed by interviews on July 11.

Due to the overwhelming number of applications, Panchayati Raj department, which is the nodal agency for the rolling out the programme, decided to carry out verification as the applications are coming in. Therefore, Mandal committees have already begun the process. The application process began on June 24.
