Centre Issues Stop-Work Order For Polavaram To Hasten Construction
New Delhi: In order to expedite the process of Polavaram construction, the Centre issued Stop Work orders for a period of two years on Thursday. The orders were received by AP Bhavan Resident Commissioner in New Delhi Praveen Prakash.
Union Minister For Environment Prakash Javadekar signed on the particular order on Thursday. He said the particular order was issued for two years with a view to hasten the construction process of Polavaram.
The Centre had already stated that it would bear the costs incurred in Polavaram construction. In this direction, it had recently approved the revised estimates to the tune of Rs 55, 548.87 crore worked out on the basis of 2017-18 prices.
