Amaravati: Here's some good news for unemployed youth in the State. The State government has released a notification for recruiting Village Volunteers on Saturday. After finishing all the preparatory process, the Village Volunteer system will come into effect from August 15 onwards. A special website has been launched for the purpose. Applications will be accepted from June 24 - July 5 at https://gramavolunteer.ap.gov.in

In order to deliver various government schemes and services to eligible beneficiaries, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government has come up with an idea to employ 18 to 35 year old unemployed in every village. All existing reservation norms will be complied with in these recruitments. Fifty percent of these posts will be reserved for women.

For every 50 houses in a village, there will be one Village Volunteer and are paid Rs 5,000 each every month. To be eligible for the post, a candidate should be local of the particular village and has at least an Intermediate education. However, class X is the minimum qualification in tribal and agency areas.

After accepting applications until July 5, they will be scrutinised by July 10. A selection committee will carry out interviews between July 11 and July 25. The selected candidates will be announced on August 1. Then, they go through a round of training before starting work on August 15.
