Kurnool Cold Storage Fire Causes 3 Crores Loss

Kurnool: A massive fire broke out in cold storage and godown in the district on Tuesday. There were no casualties or any injuries reported in the incident but the infrastructure and agriculture produce were gutted at the cold storage.

As per the details, the incident took place at the Srichakra Cold Storage and Godown near Bollavaram village in Nandikotkur Mandal of Kurnool district. The fire erupted around 5 am on Tuesday in the godown. The watchman at the godown informed the organizers and alerted the fire department. Immediately four fire tenders were deployed and struggled for six hours at a stretch to douse the flames. During the time, the agriculture produce including Mirchi, red gram, groundnut, and others were completely burnt in the fire.

According to the fire department officials, the property loss has been estimated to around Rs 3 crore. A case was registered and the police are investigating further.
