Governor Narasimhan To Achieve A Rare Feat
Amaravathi: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan will set a new record on Thursday. By administering the oath of office to YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, he will become the first Governor in the country who has overseen the government formation and administered the oath of office to five governments.
Narasimhan took up the gubernatorial position during the tumultuous time in undivided Andhra Pradesh when the movement for Telangana statehood was its peak in December 2009. In more than nine years that swept by, Narasimhan administered the oath to Kiran Kumar Reddy (2010) in united Andhra Pradesh and to N Chandrababu Naidu (2014) in truncated AP and to K Chandrashekar Rao on two occasions in 2014 and 2018. YS Jagan’s swearing-in and subsequent government formation in AP will be his fifth time overlooking the process.
With YS Jagan’s swearing-in on Thursday, Narasimhan will set a record of administering the oath of chief minister office to four different persons.
