1. Ramzan In India To Begin Tomorrow
Muslims in Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia and Malaysia, and much of the Middle East, including Egypt, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, will fast on Monday for the start of the month of Ramadan. Millions more, however, in India, Pakistan and Iran, will likely be marking the start of the lunar month on Tuesday based on moon sightings there.
2. MPTC, ZPTC Elections Underway In TS
The first phase of polling for elections to Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies and zilla parishad territorial constituencies in Telangana is underway. In the first phase, polling would be held for 2,097 MPTCs. A total of 7,072 candidates are in the fray. In ZPTC, polling would be held for 195 segments, for which 883 candidates are in the fray.
3. Re-polling Underway in 5 AP polling stations
Re-polling is underway in five polling stations in Andhra Pradesh on Monday. Polling began at 7 a.m. in the five booths in Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts and it will continue till 6 p.m. According to Chief Electoral Officer Gopal Krishna Dwivedi, there are a total of 5,064 voters in the booths.
4. 30 Injured As Bus Loses Control
At least 30 passengers sustained injuries in a bus accident which took place at Nawabpet near Nandigama in Penuganchiprolu mandal of Krishna district in the early hours of Monday. The private travel bus was travelling from Yanam to Hyderabad with 40 passengers on board.
5. No Change In Results : TSBIE
The TS Board of Intermediate said that it found “no remarkable change in the result of the students” after verifying 53 answer scripts of those who had committed suicide or attempted to end their life.
6. Opposition To Protest Inter Fiasco
The Opposition parties in Telangana have announced a protest rally on May 11 over the alleged discrepancies published in the Intermediate Examination results. Opposition party leaders Chada Venkat Reddy (CPI), M Kodandaram (TJS), Rawala Chandrasekhar Reddy (TDP) and MRG Vinod Reddy (Congress) held a discussion over the Inter Results on Sunday at Makhdoom Bhavan.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is all set to resume his efforts for formation of a non-BJP, non-Congress government at the Centre with a meeting with his Kerala counterpart Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday.

Andhra Pradesh was in the grip of severe heat wave on Sunday with many places sizzling at over 45 degree Celsius as mercury rose sharply as an after-effect of cyclone 'Fani'. Vijayawada was the hottest place with mercury rising to 45.6 degrees Celsius.
9. Heat Wave In Telangana For 3 Days
Hyderabad Weather Department Official Raja Rao informed that Telangana would be experiencing heatwave conditions for three days starting from Monday. Bhadrachalam and Khammam had recorded a high temperature of 45 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
10. Clash In Amberpet
Eight persons including four policemen were severely injured when a clash broke between two groups on Sunday evening over the reconstruction of a place of worship in Amberpet in Hyderabad. The structure was pulled down by GHMC authorities in Amberpet last Wednesday to facilitate road-widening.
11. Lok Sabha 5th Phase Voting Underway
Polling is underway for the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections in 51 constituencies spread over seven states, amidst tight security. Voting, which began at 7 this morning, will conclude at 6 in the evening. Prominent candidates in this phase include Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Rajyavardhan Rathore, Arjun Ram Meghwal and Jayant Sinha, BJP leaders Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Arjun Munda and Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Jitin Prasad.
