What Chandrababu Told Party Cadre About Election Results
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is trying his level best to infuse enthusiasm and hope in his party cadre. As part of this, he is conducting several review meets and is seen talking to the candidates and finding out from them as to how the probability of results would be in the party's favour.
But what surprises the party leaders is that instead of conducting meetings to understand the poll results, he is seen asking reports about who had worked against the party interests and to what extent has there been damage done to the party image. Political analysts are of the view that these meets are only to keep the morale of the TDP cadre continuing until the results come out on May 23.
A senior TDP leader on the condition of anonymity told Sakshi Post that these meetings were solely conducted to boost the waning morale of the TDP leaders.
On Saturday, Chandrababu conducted a review meeting in Vijayawada with candidates from the Rajahmundry parliamentary constituency. More than 280 candidates participated in the meeting. However, as the review meet progressed it turned out to be a one-man show, where Chandrababu was the only one speaking, with no reference to the poll process and how the party cadre and leaders worked during the elections. Not giving a chance to others to speak the whole review meet was a one-sided affair where Chandrababu spoke only what was on his agenda. He spoke about how they had overcome conspiracies against the TDP and despite all of these issues the people of Andhra Pradesh voted for them.
Chandrababu's two-faced attitude came into the fore once again, where at one hand he spoke about the party's victory and on the other he asked for reports to be submitted about people who workers against the party's victory. He also warned that strict action would be taken against such people. He also told the TDP workers to improve their cadre management, poll, and public management skills for the future. He advised them that they should develop forecasting skills about poll results and also learn to grade and rank the way leaders worked. Political analysts feel that these duel-statements are giving rise to the feeling that Chandrababu is wary of defeat and is trying his level best to keep his and the cadre's hopes high.
