YV Subba Reddy Padayatra In Prakasam Dist Continues
Prakasam: Protesting against the ruling TDP government's negligent attitude towards Prakasam district's lifeline Veligonda project, former YSR Congress Party MP YV Subba Reddy had taken up a padayatra and is continuing for the 11th day successfully. While pointing out the indifferent attitude towards completion of the project, he has been interacting with people and gaining an insight into their day to day problems under the TDP regime, on his walkathon.
Subba Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu clearly showed biased attitude against Prakasam district and was unconcerned about development. Despite the district reeling under severe drought conditions, the AP CM was least bothered about the people in the district. He once again pointed out that the district's water crisis - drinking as well as irrigation water needs - could be relieved only through Veligonda project.
The YSRCP leader said that Chandrababu was misleading the public with regard to Velingonda project and was cheating the farmers. He pointed out that Chandrababu had promised to complete the Veligonda project within one year of coming to power during last elections. Despite four and half years, there has been no progress in the project. The district was facing harsh drought calamity on the one hand and people were dying due to consuming floride water, on the other, he lamented.
Subba Reddy promised that as soon as YSRCP comes to power, under the leadership of the party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy the Veligonda project would be completed within a year. To highlight the false promises of Chandrababu and TDP government's failure to complete the project YV Subba Reddy had taken up padayatra covering five constituencies in the district for 15 days. In all, he would be walking 200 kilometers.
