Tension Grips Undavalli As Sacked SPF Employees Throng CM Residence
Amaravati: Tense moments prevailed for some time today at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's residence in Undavalli near here. Former employees of Special protection Force (SPF) along with their families staged a sit-in near the AP CM's residence after the police stopped them from meeting him.
Around 80 SPF constables were terminated from services without reason about three years ago. Since then, the families have been in a state of misery. Today, they decided to meet CM and request re-initiation of constables into service. The SPF constables came along with their families to meet Chandrababu, but they were stopped.
The agitators said that few people, among those terminated from services, had lost lives but till date there has been no help from the government. Let alone helping them, the police were making arrests under false charges, they alleged. They accused AP SPF director general Madireddi Pratap Reddy of removing 80 constables from services. The DG was responsible for the present condition of their families, he added.
