Parakala Prabhakar Resigns As AP Govt Advisor
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh government media advisor Parakala Prabhakar resigned from his post on Tuesday. Prabhakar, who is the husband of Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, has sent his resignation letter to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. After the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) pulled out of the alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Chandrababu was not comfortable working along with Prabhakar, it is learnt. The advisor's term in the post is set to end in the first week of July. However, Prabhakar mentioned in his letter that he has decided to resign from the post amid criticism from the opposition parties.

To avoid any kind of hindrance in the fight for achieving the rightful demands of the state, I have taken the decision, he wrote. "Some people are spreading false allegations on the presence of my family members in a national party. In this backdrop, I have decided to discontinue as an advisor. I thank AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu for providing me the opportunity to serve the state for the past four years," Prabhakar noted in his resignation letter.
