AP Speaker For Criminal Cases Against ‘Outers’, Asks Chandrababu To Express Remorse
AMARAVATI: Animosity by the opposition Telugu Desam Party continued to spill over during the fifth day of the ongoing Winter session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, with the Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu attacking the Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for obstructing them from entering the Assembly premises on Thursday morning. The Opposition chief alleged that the Marshalls obstructed them from entering the Assembly premises.
This led to a heated debate in the House and the Speaker Tammineni Sitaram after listening to the contentions of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the Opposition, ordered for a criminal action against those who were ''Outers'' (outsiders) present along with Chandrababu Naidu and his son MLC Nara Lokesh.
In a stern manner he asked the TDP Chief to express remorse over the objectionable language used considering the fact that he one of the senior most leaders in the house.
Taking serious note of the incident, the Speaker gave directions for the police to identify whom the legislators were and whom the outsiders were from the footage shown in the Assembly on Friday.
Based on the CCTV footage shows the TDP leaders manhandled the marshals for not allowing them inside the Assembly. As seen in the footage Nara Lokesh is seen shouting at the Marshall to oepn the gate and calls him a ‘useless fellow’. After which Chandrababu Naidu comes forward and abuses the Marshall using a highly objectionable word and they all forcibly open the gates.
It doesn't stop there Nara Lokesh is seen pushing the Marshalls including a female Marhsall and hurtling abuses at everyone. The Marshalls are seen maintaining a calm demeanour and try to talk to the TDP leaders in a calm manner.
Legislative Affairs Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said that the Assembly moved a resolution giving powers to Speaker Tammineni Sitaram to take stringent action against those TDP leaders, who attacked marshals. He alleged that Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu has abused marshals. The minister has shown the photo of MLC Nara Lokesh catching neck of a marshal and even scratching them. He stated that punishment must be severe so that no MLA or MLC can dare to attack marshals in the future. This kind of a high handed behaviour was never seen before nor unheard of in any Assembly session of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and Chandrababu using such offensive language is unpardonable.
