If Media Writes The Truth There Is No Need To Fear: Perni Nani
Tadepalli: Condemning the reports that the media was being curbed and there was no freedom of press, Minister of Transport and I&PR of Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) said, that if papers wrote the truth there was no need to fear.
Speaking to the media at the Secretariat along with Minister for Civil Supplies Kodali Nani on Friday, he said that state government did not make laws governing media and papers as they come under the Central purview.
A section of the media was falsely posting information that the Government was curbing the freedom of the press. If someone writes intentionally against the government or official that the department head / official is permitted to give rejoinder. This is not new and has been a practice since many days. If the media fails to publish the rejoinder that the concerned official can file cases in their particular jurisdictions he said.
He strongly condemned the false propaganda against the state government recently. The government isn't curbing the media, but only ensuring that the truth is published with correct facts. The government and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are clearly committed to the welfare of journalist. We want to make it clear that the state government wants to curb those people or section of media who want to write against the government with malafide intentions.
He also requested the people to observe as to who these media houses work for while taking a dig at the TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu's Yellow media.
Speaking to the media Minister Kodali Nani in a stern note said that media should stop writing false news and start focussing on writing the correct facts. Chandrababu's statements are sweet to the ears of a particular media, he scoffed. The Government is committed to the welfare of the Journalists and the people should also be able to understand for whom these media houses work, he concluded.
