Capital City Decision Will Be Taken  Only After Experts Committee Report: Botsa

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration Minister Botsa Satyanarayana slammed TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu for publicizing false information about the State capita issue. The Minister said that the government will proceed ahead on the capital city after the experts' committee submits the report in six weeks.

“Despite the financial crisis in the state Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is fulfilling his promises and putting efforts to fix the system,”the Minister said. He clearly stated that the government will build a capital that will be approved by the five crore people of the state. The government stance and desire is to develop 13 districts in the state and make the capital city a role model in the country, he said further.

The expert committee will soon visit the Amaravati capital region as part of its state wide tour scouting for a suitable place for setting up state capital.“The experts' committee is conducting a survey and collecting information from the people of the state about their opinion on the construction of the capital city. The Committee will consider all parameters and data from respective areas and will submit the report in six weeks.The government will proceed forward only based on the recommendations of the committee’s report,” Botsa Satyanarayana said.

Criticising the TDP chief, the Minister said that the state was pushed into a debt trap because of Chandrababu’s decisions and now he is bragging about his contribution to the State after leaving it high and dry ,” he said. He further questioned Chandrababu to show the revenue of Rs 2 lakh Crore that he was talking about in the press meets. “Have you constructed any single permanent building in Amaravati in the past five years of your government? Isn’t it true that your relatives and close ones have looted the State exchequers by inside trading during your governance? Every building constructed was built on a temporary basis,” the Minister said.

The government on September 13, had handed over the responsibility to a panel formed with urban planning experts from Delhi, Ahmadabad, Bangaluru and Chennai. The panel consists Prof. Mahaveer, Professor of Planning, Dean (Academic), School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, Dr Anjali Mohan, a Bangalore-based urban and regional planner, Prof Shivananda Swamy from CEPT, Ahmadabad, Prof KT Ravindran, SPA (Retd), Delhi School of Architecture, Delhi and Dr. KV Arunachalam, retired chief urban planner, Chennai. Retired IAS officer GN Rao (Andhra Pradesh) would act as convener of the committee.
