Respect Chair, AP Assembly Speaker Tells Opposition
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly speaker pulled up the opposition for creating a needless controversy on the issue of supplementary questions and other issues on the fifth day of the Assembly Budget Sessions on Wednesday.
He reminded opposition members including TDP chief and Leader of Opposition, N Chandrababu Naidu, that supplementary questions could be asked only with the permission of the Speaker. Similarly, seats are assigned as per rules of the House.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy responded to Chandrababu Naidu‘s comments referring to seniority and said that rules applied to all members whether they were a single term MLAs or six term MLAs. Even a leader with 40 years of experience had to adhere to the rules, the chief minister pointed out. YS Jagan added that the Speaker had given a ruling on the allocation of seats in the house. It was incumbent on all members to follow the ruling of the Speaker, he said.
The chief minister faulted the opposition for disrupting the house and wasting precious time.
