Vijayasai Reddy Blames Congress Party For Flaws Plaguing Indian Democracy

New Delhi: YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy breathed fire on Congress party during a discussion on electoral reforms in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

Stating that Congress had no right to talk about criminalisation of Indian politics, he alleged the party in its 50 years' rule had used every opportunity to undermine the legitimacy of the rival parties by foisting false cases against leaders of Opposition parties. "It is responsible for bringing in the undue influence of money in politics," he slammed.

Reddy underscored the importance of electoral reforms for the true democracy to take root and to usher in equality in the Indian society. He also called for transparency in electoral rolls and to bring in changes to People's Representative Act.
