Security of Chandrababu Not Downgraded: Home Minister Sucharitha
Amaravati: Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharitha clarified that the allegations being made by TDP leaders that Chandrababu Naidu's security was downgraded were untrue.
Speaking to press persons here on Tuesday, Sucharitha pointed out that their government was providing security to Chandrababu with 74 security personnel as against the mandated 58, while retaining the Z Plus category security cover.
She, however, said it was not possible for the government to provide security to Chandrababu Naidu's private properties and alleged that the issue was raked up only to divert people's attention from demolition of his illegal structures. Opposition leaders in the past were frisked at airports and there was nothing in contravention of rules about Chandrababu Naidu being frisked at an airport.
Stating that TDP should refrain from politicising every issue, she alleged that TDP was trying to dub deaths of a father-son duo in property clashes in Guntur as political murders. She further clarified that their government would not resort to settle political scores with anyone and said if request was made Chandrababu would be provided with additional security.
